About DeLacey
My name is SE DeLacey and my daughter and I live in Nevada- where the ocean is too insufferably far away and the weather is nice for about five minutes. But the mountains are beautiful and my family is near. I'm constantly learning to go easier on myself, to have fun and that being a good mom is more about being your kids' biggest advocate (for learning, for safety, for laughter and creativity) than about those pesky things like whether or not you remembered to pack a lunch before leaving the house (more than once my child has taken McDonalds breakfast burritos in a grocery bag.)
My house (and my dog and my clothes) are covered in stickers. The house is a wreck. There's glitter on EVERYTHING and I make a crap-ton of mistakes. But loving the stuffing out of my kid isn't one of the mistakes I make, and neither is keeping everything else second to that.
This blog is where I hope to remind myself of the small accomplishments (because others are a lot less likely to praise you for feeding your child and getting her to bed before 10) and hopefully share some honest moments with other people (mothers and women mostly, but not exclusively) who need to pat themselves on the back at the end of the day for not setting the house on fire. I'd like us to give ourselves a little grace, and then give some to each other as well.
